Annual General Meeting 2011
The
2011 AGM took place on Sunday, December 11th. The well attended
meeting heard Chairman Martin Shanahan give a synopsis of his first year at the
helm of the club. Martin complimented the outgoing committee on the progressive
work that had been carried out during the year, notably the re-construction of
the 18th green. He congratulated the players who brought both
provincial and national honours to the club in 2011. Martin remembered the
passing of our good friend and club stalwart T.F. McCarthy, and spoke
eloquently of T.F.’s many efforts and achievements during his time at the club.
Martin
went on to say that it had been an honour to be Chairman of the club and spoke
of the co-operation and assistance afforded him by the committee. He thanked
the Town Council for their much appreciated assistance during the year. A
special mention was made regarding our local sponsors who continue to support the
club in these difficult times and who are a major part of our funding.
