Juvenile Competition Winner, June 18th

Pictured above are Corinne McGee (Juvenile Officer) and Aidan Ryan, who won the first Juvenile competition of the year.

The first Juvenile competition of the year took place last Tuesday, June 18th. The winner was Aidan Ryan who narrowly beat Stephen Donovan for first place. For the duration of the Summer, our Juvenile Competitions will take place every Wednesday at 1pm. These competitions will cater for players of all standards and will be an ideal way for beginners to experience competitive pitch and putt without being overwhelmed by the more seasoned players. There are plenty of prizes to be won for all competitors, so all juvenile members are encouraged to take part in these competitions every Wednesday.

The dates for the major Juvenile Championships are fast approaching, as well as our own club competitions. Now is the time to start getting the practice done. It is also hoped to have a Waterford Intercounty team this year, so it should be an exciting summer for juvenile players of all standards.

There is now a designated notice board in the clubhouse with the sole purpose of displaying information (fixtures, events, etc.) for Juvenile members, so have a look next time you enter the clubhouse.

More details of these competitions, and more, are available on the Juveniles notice board.

Course Improvements

Phenomenal is the only word to describe the work that has been carried out at the club over the past few months. The playing course is as good a course as one would find anywhere in the country and is a testament to everyone who has put in this monumental effort this year. The planting and maintenance of the flower beds is a sight to behold and the painting and the new signage at the front of the clubhouse is superb. The new shelters are also a fantastic addition to the course.
As you approach the course from Boreenatra, what confronts you now is nothing less than an aesthetic gem. The whole facade of the club has been transformed and is a credit to everyone involved. Very Well Done!!

Day-Trip to the Bahamas (no,I mean Inniscarra)

Our long awaited sojourn to Inniscarra Pitch and Putt Club took place last Saturday, June 8th. What a day we had! Although Inniscarra is well off the beaten track, everyone found their way to the course without too many detours. Talk about HEAT!!!Saturday happened to be the warmest day of the year so far, and by the end of the day, we all bore a remarkable resemblance to lobsters. The Inniscarra representatives that were there to meet us couldn’t have been more welcoming, and more accommodating, throughout the day. The course was in fantastic condition. All-in-all, this was another very memorable day out and everyone enjoyed the day.

We held a 36 hole, 3-ball Scramble competition in the morning and a 36 hole, Scotch foursomes competition in the afternoon.
