Pubs Open League 2016

The final of the pubs league 2016 was played on Sunday last. The Anchor (David Buckley, John Charles and Craig O'Connor), The Cove Bar, Stradbally (Paddy Lawlor, Damien Sheehan and Paddy Street) and Paddy Foley's Bar (Phillip Regan, Aiden O'Rourke and Robbie Donovan) made it through to the last 3 teams.
It was a beautiful October evening and scoring was second to none.
Between the three teams there was only 7 shots between all of them so it was very tense when the cards were coming in, but the overall winners for the second year running was the Paddy Foley's team, closely followed by The Anchor team and then The Cove Bar coming third.
After the game we went to Paddy Foley's Bar where Mary Foley presented the prizes and trophy and then we enjoyed a lovely spread of sandwiches.
Well done to all teams who played and supported this event.

Pitch Marks
Leaving Pitch Marks when playing destroys the greens, it takes a lot of care and attention to keep them in pristine condition, so all members and green fees are asked to repair them and use the correct repairer when doing so.
Do not use club heads to repair a pitch mark as this damages the green. Always use a pitch repairer

Also do not use the club head to take balls out of holes on greens as this damages the hole.
If anyone has an hour or two Mondays to Fridays to spare to give a hand helping on the course you would be very welcome.
