Cunnigar Team Achieve Fantastic Victory At National Scramble in Douglas!!

!!
Terence making his victory speech.

Terence Moroney, Chris Wall and Daniel Keoghan, (Cunnigar B), were crowned National Scramble Champions after a fantastic victory in Douglas, Cork on Sunday 9th May. Having trailed by 1 1/2 shots after Saturdays play, they all produced outstanding displays on a sun-drenched course on Sunday to seal a commanding victory by a huge 4 shot margin over their nearest rivals, Deerpark D. This was a wonderful victory for these three young inexperienced players against the best players in the country.

Martin Hayes, Aiden O’Rourke and Keith Power, (Cunnigar A), were leading after Saturdays play and were in contention until the very last round. Well done to both teams and congratulations to our new National Champions

Mr. Enneguess, who is a PPUI Level 1 coach, visited 6th Class at St Josephs Primary School, Dungarvan, where he spoke to the pupils about getting involved in our sport. As a result of his visit, and with the co-operation of the school, coaching sessions will be held with the 6th Class pupils on four consecutive Mondays starting May 10th. Mr. Enneguess, who is a member of Lakewood Pitch and Putt club in Cork, will also be visiting the Dungarvan girls’ primary schools over the coming weeks to promote and encourage more female involvement in our sport

Keep Harry Pitchin'

“Keep Harry Pitchin’ “
Harry O Hanlon, a native of Athlone , wishes to seek our assistance for a unique fundraising event. Harry, an avid Pitch and Putt Player has elected to undertake a charity event in May whereby he will visit and play 18 holes in every affiliated course in the country (118 courses approx). This has never been attempted before in the aid of charity. The objective of this venture is to raise funding for Cystic Fibrosis Ireland. Harry will be carrying out this venture in the name of a prominent pitch and putt family (the Kelly family from the EBS Club in Cork) and specifically in the name of recently deceased Barry Kelly. Harry will be playing our course on Friday May 14th at 5.30 pm. Donations can be made at www.mycharity.ie/event/pitchandputtchallenge/
