Day-Trip to the Bahamas (no,I mean Inniscarra)

Our long awaited sojourn to Inniscarra Pitch and Putt Club took place last Saturday, June 8th. What a day we had! Although Inniscarra is well off the beaten track, everyone found their way to the course without too many detours. Talk about HEAT!!!Saturday happened to be the warmest day of the year so far, and by the end of the day, we all bore a remarkable resemblance to lobsters. The Inniscarra representatives that were there to meet us couldn’t have been more welcoming, and more accommodating, throughout the day. The course was in fantastic condition. All-in-all, this was another very memorable day out and everyone enjoyed the day.

We held a 36 hole, 3-ball Scramble competition in the morning and a 36 hole, Scotch foursomes competition in the afternoon.

Very enjoyable day-trip to Lakewood

A very enjoyable day trip to Lakewood Pitch and Putt Club, Cork, took place last Saturday, April 6th. Twenty one club members headed off for Ballincollig and were delighted with the Cead Mile Fáilte we got when we arrived at Lakewood. Tea and snacks were laid on for us and we were made feel very welcome indeed. The Lakewood course is in absolutely fantastic condition, and is a credit to the club. We held two scrambles over the course of the day, and everyone, without exception, thoroughly enjoyed this wonderful day trip. Three holes-in-one were achieved on the day by Margaret Enright, Éilish Sullivan and Michael Delaney. Well done all three.

Following on from the very positive feedback regarding this trip, and the fact that visiting other courses is a great way of engaging with the regional and national Pitch and Putt community, the next day trip to a differentclub is already being planned for June, if that can be arranged.

Trip to Tipp

Cover Photo

What a day we had at Tipperary Hills on Tuesday, May 9th, as some of our members paid a visit to this fantastic course. From the moment we arrived we were welcomed with open arms and we were looked after royally all day. The hospitality bestowed on us was second to none, and was much appreciated by all of us. Jacinta and the lads couldn’t have done more for us.

Great credit must be paid to the club for the condition of the course which must demand very high maintenance due to the topography of the area. Great renovation work is also being carried out on the clubhouse which will also be an excellent facility when completed. All in all, Tipperary Hills is an excellent course to visit and is a must for anyone wishing to play Pitch and Putt. We will definitely make a return visit this year.
