Cunnigar Team Wins Munster Mixed Foursomes Title

Mary O’Neill & Patsy Hackett were popular winners of the Munster Mixed Foursomes held at Lakewood, Cork, last Sunday August 28th. 40 teams had qualified to contest this year’s event, Cunnigar being represented by 5 teams. Leading after an opening +7, the winners added a further +5 to close with their winning total of +12, which was tremendous scoring on the demanding Lakewood course. All 5 Cunnigar teams played exceptionally well, with Stella Kinsella & John Charles taking the prize for the best second 18, scoring +6.

The annual Credit Union Shield Competition took place on Thursday, August 11^th. This has proved to be a very popular competition every year and 2011 was no exception. 35 players competed for this coveted prize and the summer weather contributed to what was some great scoring on the night. We are very grateful to the Dungarvan Credit Union who sponsor this competition annually and have always been great supporters of our Club.
