Aiden O'Rourke wins in Enniscorthy

Many congratulations to Aiden O'Rourke, Cunnigar,
who won the Junior Scratch Cup at St. Patrick's Pitch and Putt club, Enniscorthy, on March 20th. This was a great win for Aiden and hopefully he will add to his growing number of titles as the year progresses.

Our Table Quiz was held last Friday night at Dillon’s Bar, Dungarvan. These quiz nights have now become an integral part of the social calendar for the club and a great night was had by all. Great credit is due to the Finance committee for all the work they put into what was an outstandingly successful fundraiser. Many thanks also to our sponsors who supplied an array of spot prizes for the raffle. Thanks also to Brian Dillon who sponsored the prize-money for the quiz.


After 10 rounds of nail-biting questions, the winners were Table 28…Christine Noonan, Amanda Noonan, Madeleine Hourigan
and (of course!)Paddy Noonan.

The Mrs. Bailey Shield tournament, held last Sunday January 9th, was the first major competition of the year. This annual event is very popular, and 2011 was no exception. The course is slowly coming back to normal after the Arctic weather conditions over the past few months, and the large number of competitors played in glorious sunshine.

Zambia Fundraiser Results

There was an unprecedented

turnout for this Fundraising event which was held on Wednesday, 29th December. Over 40 competitors took part in this event to raise funds for Des Sheehan who is embarking on a trip to Zambia. Des, who is Anne O’Connor’s son, is taking part in an educational project set up by Mary Immaculate College, Limerick. The proceeds of the game will go towards basic school equipment which will be

brought out to Zambia by Des and his group. We wish him every success in this most worthy endeavour.

The club is 20 years in existence, and over that time the club has gone from strength to strength, culminating in the hosting of the Ladies All-Ireland Stroke-play Championships earlier this year.
