22nd WATERFORD PPN AWARDS
On Thursday the Cunnigar was invited to attend as we were nominated for these awards. Unfortunately we were not shortlisted this time..
The Waterford PPN (Public Participation Network) is a group of community groups, clubs, societies, organisations from Waterford City and County that focus on environmental, social inclusion and other community activities across the county.
On the night we got to see a wonderful showcase of community life and the great work done often on a shoestring , by Volunteers and groups making a real difference to support inclusion, build friendships , combat loneliness and support mental health and well-being . Over 100 groups and similar numbers of individual entries, for the awards showing the strength and hugh variety of voluntary groups here in Waterford .
We got to meet other groups, learn from each other , share ideas and experiences and how support each other and be a part of a strong collective voice for communities.
This network is supported by sponsors across Waterford.
As always we all rely highly on our sponsors so please support them where possible.

Pitch Marks

Leaving pitch marks when playing destroys the greens. It takes a lot of care and attention to keep them in pristine condition, so all members and green fees are asked to repair them and use the correct repairer when doing so.
Do not use club heads to repair a pitch mark as this damages the green.
Always use a pitch repairer.
Also do not use the club head to take balls out of holes on greens as this damages the hole.
You can find more information on repairing pitch marks on our Facebook page
