Success at the PJ Bell National Mixed Team Competition, May 12th

Five Cunnigar teams made the trip to Douglas Pitch and Putt Club in Cork last Sunday, May 12^th, to take part in the PJ Bell National Mixed Team Competition. Fortunately, the storm force winds of the previous few days abated, and the competition took place under very pleasant conditions. Thirty six teams, from clubs all around Ireland, took part. The competition was held over two sessions. At the end of the day, the overall honours were taken by a team from Ferbane Pitch and Putt Club, Offaly. However, one of the Cunnigar Teams, comprising of Stella Kinsella, Liam Simms and Gerard O’Brien, won a prize for the best nett score of the first session. Overall, each and every one of our players enjoyed the competition. For some of our players, this was their first time playing in a major national competition, and, no doubt, this experience will stand them in good stead for future competitions.
